3 Reasons to Go a Different Direction: McKinney, Perryman, and Kendricks

After watching the NFL combine and watching more tape on the 3 top prospects, Benardrick McKinney, Denzel Perryman, and Eric Kendricks, I honestly don't believe any of them are worth a first round grade when it comes down to it. With that said I believe we need to take a big guy on defense. There are a lot of rushers/run stoppers in this years draft worthy of first round picks and a few of them could be around at 30 like Eddie Goldman, DT-FSU, Owamagbe Odighizuwa, DE-UCLA, Jordan Phillips, DT-Oklahoma to name a few. Michael Bennett: Another Possibility for the Pack

Michael Bennett has been considered by most to be a second round pick, largely due to his size. At under 300 pounds, he is less than ideal to be an edge rusher, much less a DE in a 3-4 in the NFL. But Michael may have moved up draft boards after a fine Combine performance. Bennett (6'2" 288 lbs) don't do justice to his ability to get up the field and his overall power. (more…)

Packers Release Jones, Now Jonesin’ For A New ILB?

By cutting Brad Jones the Packers freed up 3.5 million in cap with only 1 million dead money today. But what intrigues me most is that Thompson has shown his hand so to speak before the draft. We all knew ILB was going to be a position of need but by releasing Jones it now becomes a must 1st round pick in my opinion. Well all the NFL hopefuls who have been invited to the NFL Combine are about to start trying to prove that they are worthy to be taken in this year's NFL Draft. The Combine has serious ramifications for each players' future even thought it may not be the be-all, end-all of the scouting process.
