Is signing Cobb really worth it?

Let me start by saying I am like the rest of Packer nation in that I would like to see Randall Cobb get signed to a long term contract. Now lets be realistic about this. Randall has stated he wants 9 million a year which he is well worth. His play on the field has been fantastic to say the least, he is a favorite target for Rodgers in clutch situations and more often than not, exceeds expectations after the catch. But if Thompson pays him the 9 million that he wants and also pays Bulaga how much does that leave…

AJ Hawk… A CLASS Act

  2 years ago     732 Views     33 Comments

As many of you know by now...AJ Hawk, 5th pick overall...has been released by the Packers. This moves the Packers from a re-vamping year at inside linebacker to a re-building year. After watching the NFL combine and watching more tape on the 3 top prospects, Benardrick McKinney, Denzel Perryman, and Eric Kendricks, I honestly don't believe any of them are worth a first round grade when it comes down to it. With that said I believe we need to take a big guy on defense. There are a lot of rushers/run stoppers in this years draft worthy of first round picks and a few of them could be around at 30 like Eddie Goldman, DT-FSU, Owamagbe Odighizuwa, DE-UCLA, Jordan Phillips, DT-Oklahoma to name a few. Michael Bennett: Another Possibility for the Pack

  2 years ago     130 Views     3 Comments

Michael Bennett has been considered by most to be a second round pick, largely due to his size. At under 300 pounds, he is less than ideal to be an edge rusher, much less a DE in a 3-4 in the NFL. But Michael may have moved up draft boards after a fine Combine performance. Bennett (6'2" 288 lbs) don't do justice to his ability to get up the field and his overall power. (more…)
