Hat Tip to Dom Capers

We want to take a moment tonight to tip our hat to GreenBay Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers. Following an outstanding opener against the Bears, Capers and the GreenBay defense seemed go extremely flat. However, lately they've come on strong despite some challenges.
After getting eaten alive by Brett Favre and then giving up 38 points to the bottom-feeding Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Packer defense seemed to come alive. Capers appeared to pull out some of the stops and let his high-powered defense have the reigns.
Then Kampman and Harris went down in the 49ers game and would not return for the season.
Even though the Packers defense has stumbled mightily and lost key players, Capers has still coached this team to the top slot in the league. And, as of this writing, the GreenBay Packers defense is still standing at #2 in yards given up.
It's this kind of coaching that wins championships. If it weren't for the nap Dom and company took in the middle of the season, this team may be sitting solidly in first place in the league with very few in a position to pry them from that spot.
Here's to you Dom. If it's true that defense wins championships, I'd say the Packers' chances are in pretty good hands.
