Jeff pre-game prediction

Most of the so called experts are picking the Lions to win at Lambeau this weekend saying the Lions helmetPackers can’t beat their defense!

The Packers have had troubles with tough defenses throughout the season when they are on the road, but at home they seem to play a lot better for whatever reason. With this game being at Lambeau, I believe the Packers once again make a statement with a decisive win over Detroit to win their 4th NFC North title in as many years.

While the Packers stalled on offense in their first meeting I think they are a much better team this time around, Bulaga was coming off an injury to play in his first game back and Linsley was still trying to gel with the O line in his third career start as a pro, Now this line has got 13 more games under their belts and have come together as a unit to play stellar ball. Suh had his way with the rookie but in my opinion this time around Linsley will surprise him with not only his power but his all around form and the smarts he has acquired since they last met. The line has also started run blocking better these last 4 or 5 games to open lanes for Lacy to run through. Speaking of which, Lacy has seemed to have gotten his North/South form back instead of dancing at the point of attack, He is hitting the holes with power and if they are not there his vision to find the cut back lanes seems to be coming naturally to him again, This is all coming at just the right time to make a run for the Superbowl.

Detroit has not been able to put points up against even mediocre teams winning most of their games by 3 points in dramatic finishes! I do not see this happening with the way the Packs defense is playing lately. They have stopped way better offenses than the Lions and will prove this game that they are the real deal, House was a big factor at containing Johnson the last game so we can only cross our fingers and pray he is able to go this game as well but if not Williams has been playing very well and he can get it done also!

Reggie Bush will be back for this one as well so Capers will need to dial up those run stopping plays to keep him under the 100 yard mark, If the defense can do that and keep Johnson from making the big plays it will be a long day for Stafford because as of late the Packs pass rush has found its identity and is getting pressure on whoever they play. I know some are saying since Raiola is suspended this game their O line could be a little weaker but watch out for the rookie Swanson, He is 6-5 317 lbs and played in the SEC for four years so he will be no push over. for instance look at how Linsley stepped in as a rookie and played! But if Daniels plays like a beast it could be trouble for the rookie :)

090911_Randall-Cobb_400But with all this said I believe the so called experts are wrong and so are most that think this will be a close game. I believe the Packers come into this game with not only a chip on their shoulders from losing to the Lions early in the season but they will have a boulder to drop on them right from the start. Rodgers will tear up their secondary with Nelson/Cobb and Adams all having good games and then Lacy will put the final touches on them with some power running to seal the deal.

So I predict a Packer win by a landslide of 31-17

Go Pack Go!

Until the Lions win at Green Bay, which hasn’t happened since 1991, I’ll take the Pack every time. Even if Detroit wins one in Titletown, I’ll still go with the Green & Gold.

So glad the “experts” are picking the Lions. Packers always do better when they aren’t picked to win. Love my Packers.

The so called experts have many times been wrong when picking a team to win.. I have seen BIG upsets on some of this games. With that said, it is not going to an easy game for the Packers even at home. The Lions are hungry, I hope the Packers are more hungry then the Lions.. And truthfully I am nerves, of course I want my Packers to WIN, so GO PACK GO!!!

Agree with some of your comments on the line, but I think the biggest factor will be how well our receivers can run their routes with the disruption from the Lions secondary, and whether the officiating crew will call the interference and contact events that stifled our receivers last time we played them. Given the way both teams have progressed through the season, the Pack has an excellent opportunity to set the tone for the playoffs with a win on Sunday.

I hope so. Alot of people are counting the lions out, but I say we can’t. This means so so much to them to beat the Packers at home for the NFC title. We need to show up and be prepared won’t be a easy game, but we will prevail.

What nobody is talking about is Detroits offence. They played like crap these past few weeks. They barely got by the Vikings at home a few weeks ago and against the Bears with their horrible defense, they were only able to put up 14 points until almost the end of the game!!
I think our defense is licking it’s chops!!!!!

Ed why are you on a Packer site trolling? Do you deep down want to admit you love the Packers because your Lions are losers?

Its okay to come out and admit it bud we all know the Packers are the kings of the NFC North :)
