The NFC North sent two teams to the playoffs last year, one of which made it all the way to the NFC Championship in the Green Bay Packers. With training camp at hand, the Packers look to put together a team that can repeat the successes of last year without the early offensive disconnect and through-line of injuries and bad play from the defensive backfield. Several veteran players will be missing from training camp this year leaving a gap in leadership. However, several free agents have been added and an infusion of speed on the defense has combined to provide a team that looks to be the most athletic in coach McCarthy’s tenure.

The Lions have the always dangerous Matt Stafford who is coming off a year in which their running game faltered and he had to bring the team back from behind no less than 8 times. The addition of TJ Lang and health of Ameer Abdullah should help, but the loss of Taylor Decker for 4-6 months to a torn labrum is devastating.

Most Dangerous Substance on Earth - Packer Offense

The Minnesota Vikings would like nothing more than to finally make it back to the big dance in the year that it would be a home game. Their defense is one of the best in the league but they were able to generate zero running attack last year and their O-line was abysmal. The addition of Dalvin Cook is hoped to infuse some success to the ground game but there are still question marks at the quarterback position with Teddy Bridgewater barely stepping on the field and the oft-injured Sam Bradford as more of a game manager than changer.

Finally, the Chicago Bears spent plenty of draft capital to trade up for Mitch Trubisky and the fallout could be significant. This is a team that has Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelsonneeds at virtually every position, had only five picks, and drafted three non-FBS players with those picks. Shaheen should be a nice addition but with Jeffery gone and a bevy of second-rate WR’s vying for the top receiver spot, the lone bright spot is Jordan Howard.

So, the question is, what will the Packers’ record be in the NFC North? We will have a series of these polls over the next few weeks leading up to the pre-season and the return of Packers football…enjoy!
