On Sunday, the Packers put Beau Sandland on injured reserve (knee injury) to make room for DE Shaneil Jenkins. The move bolstered a defensive line that was missing draftee Montravius Adams and would no longer have LeTroy Guion. With Sandland gone, Aaron Peck, the 6’2″ 239 pound former wide receiver out of Fresno State, has a big-time opportunity to make a splash. This is especially true now that Richard Rodgers has revealed he has a broken finger. As such he becomes my player to watch in the upcoming game against Washington. Here is the breakdown and highlights of Peck in action.

Of the 14 players who caught passes for the Packers last Thursday, only one was a tight end. That catch was made as the inaugural in-game catch of Martellus Bennett and went for 13 yards. Lance Kendricks should factor into the game in Washington but Aaron Peck will have plenty of opportunities too. Peck will need to show something if he wants to make a roster that has two free agent acquisitions, a stalwart incumbent (though injured) and only will keep 3 tight ends.

But Peck showed some promise in 2016, especially as a bounce-back player after losing 2015 to injury. Here are some highlights from MBK Sports:

J.R. Augustine grew up in Black River Falls, WI and is currently living in Tennessee. He was born a Packer fan and survived the infamous 70s and 80s. He has immensely enjoyed the Packers' recent success and is looking forward to years of success to come.
