7 months ago     115 Views     Leave your thoughts

OK Packer Nation, now is your chance to vote the Packers pick at number 29 overall in this year's draft. We spent the entire Good Packer Nation Morning show setting up a live simulation and running. Viewers "pounded the table" for the three players they wanted on the list and now it is time to choose. There can only be one and there is only one way to get your pick to the top of the board to be selected tomorrow morning (9:00 CST 10:00 Eastern) when we make the pick and run the end of the first round and…

Preparation for the Draft

The Packers will go on the clock in less than two weeks. In preparation for that GPN wants to put you in the position of General Manager with a live simulation of the draft on Monday's Good Packer Nation Morning. Today's show was cut short for technical reasons so today I am putting together a pre-draft prep sheet for all those who want to participate. This prep sheet will include for you the draft order, my players that fall at or around number 29 on my big board, along with some compelling questions that should be food for thought coming…

Aaron Rodgers “…Packers Fans Should Be Really Excited About This Season…”

From R-E-L-A-X to "I think we can run the table", Aaron Rodgers has shown the ability to say just the right thing at just the right time. This off-season, Rodgers has a message for the fans. I mentioned on Good Packer Nation Morning a few weeks back an interview that Rodgers did with Evan Daniels that was very insightful (big thanks to Phil). But with Rodgers...sometimes you have to read between the lines. Rodgers said that "Green Bay Packers fans should be really excited about the season and the possibilities". What did he mean by that? Obviously, we can't know all…

Are the Packers in Re-building Mode?

7 months ago     123 Views     Leave your thoughts

Aaron Rodgers has said that this year's Packers team needs to "reload". As far as the defense is concerned...this team is rebuilding. As much as we would like to forget about it, the Packers were one respectable defense away from another Super Bowl appearance last year. The offense was not the problem. With that 20/20 hindsight, fast-forward to the off-season, where the Packers lost Sam Shields, Micah Hyde, Julius Peppers, and Datone Jones. The addition of Davon House and Ricky Jean Francois were...part of the rebuilding process. The Packers have two second-year players in Kenny Clark and Dean Lowry that…

Ranking the Top 5 Packers Draft Needs

  8 months ago     132 Views     2 Comments

The Packers will enter the 2017 draft with holes to fill...particularly on defense. Ranked 22nd in total defense, multitudes of injury, in particular to Sam Shields, forced young cornerbacks (themselves injured often) into major roles in short order. With the exit of Julius Peppers and Datone Jones, second year LB Kyler Fackrell and recently signed Jayrone Elliot will presumably be called upon earlier and more often. Up front, second year DT Kenny Clark will have his chance to "take the next step" in working side by side with Mike Daniels and now Ricky Jean Francois. But the defense isn't the…
