Sam Shields Out, Williams Questionable

Packernation has been waiting for word on Sam Shields and Tramon Williams after coach McCarthy has said that neither's injury was long term. But today, word came out that Sam Shields was out for Sunday's game against Carolina and Tramon Williams is questionable. This, along with the absence of Datone Jones for a second game, make the Lambeau Field contest against the Carolina Panthers the first with major questions at the start position this year.  (more…)

The Packers entered the second quarter of the 2014 season in style, putting up 42 points on the Vikings while only allowing 7, and those came in garbage time. It is easy to blow off a win such as that because of the absence of Teddy Bridgewater. But keep in mind that the Vikings put up 41 on the Atlanta Falcons the game before.
