How big of a difference can Kenny Clark make?  I think it can be a profound difference for a defense that needed backfield help and got it, but also has the benefit in Kenny Clark of an up-and-comer on the Packers defensive line. There are many reasons to believe that Clark will be better than last year, there are reasons to believe that an improvement from Clark can benefit the defense as a whole. Let's dive right into some of them now.  (more…)

Heart of the D-Line Looks Strong

There is a reason for the cliche' "The game is won or lost in the trenches". The Packers for the last few years have relied on Mike Daniels to head up the defensive line and give it the attitude and pocket crushing presence that they need. To me, the presence of Hundley makes all the difference in a game where the Raiders are expected to play their starters on the o-line and in the defensive backfield extensively (for a second pre-season game) and the Packers approach has been to risk no unnecessary starter. The match-up between the Packers third/fourth quarterbacks and the Raiders d-line was a recipe for...er....learning. (more…)

I LOVE Lunch-pail Drafts…

Before this year's draft, I said if we pick all OL, DL and LB's I would be happy. Contrary to some who rail against this year's draft, I loved it. The loss of BJ Raji was accounted for in the first round and Kenny Clark will get some serious rotational time with the loss of Pennel for four games. Plus, Clark will figure heavily into our five game pre-season. On offense, the Packers got not just one but two big guys that could be excellent players for a long time. Spriggs was my favorite pick of this year's draft but…
