At pick number 30 in this year's draft, the Packers picked a safety that they believe can be a pro cornerback in Damarious Randall. With an interception returned for touchdown in each of his last two seasons, the 5'11" 196 pound safety would have also been the best cornerback on the Sun Devil's team but played safety because of team need. Ted Thompson has always been about picking the best player available in the draft for each round. This year's draft sees the Packers in need of inside linebacker help with the loss of Brad Jones and AJ Hawk, and cornerback with Tramon Williams and Davon House. Is it April 30th yet? Football season can't get here soon enough for most fans, and April 30th "Draft day" kicks off the new beginning in my opinion. Some fans like the free agency frenzy and believe that's the start of the season but I have learned Ted Thompson doesn't dabble in free agency too often except to retain his own, so as I said draft day is the day I look forward to for the new season. General manager Ted Thompson has stuck to his guns in free agency again this year by staying away from signing high price players from other teams. He was able to retain two key players in Randall Cobb and Brian Bulaga to shore up the offense again this year but while keeping the offensive side of the ball in tact he has lost a couple key players on defense. Davon House signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tramon Williams left for the Cleveland Browns so what was once solid position in the secondary is a injury away from being a disaster.…
