What King Adds to the Packers

Many in Packer Nation were ecstatic when the Packers drafted Kevin King with the first pick in round two. King brings an immediate upgrade to a Packers roster that struggled to keep number one wide receivers in check and the pick certainly shows that the Packers are intent on playing better in that regard. How much can be expected of King out of the box remains to be seen but with former first and second round picks Randall and Rollins still on the roster, along with the re-addition of Davon House, the pick really helps the defensive backfield out.  (more…)

Mock draft 2.0 by Jeff Hayes

As I said in my first mock draft I have the right to change my mind so I figured I would do an alternative to my first. I will put the name of the player I had in the first mock next to the round then put this mock's pick below. 1st round, Joe Mixon RB Oklahoma Tj Watt OLB Wisconsin, this seems to be the fan favorite this year and he very well could be a Packer if he is there at 29 but the way it's looking teams are starting to notice his potential and should go in…

Circle the Stat: Bonus Edition

Mike McCarthy says stats are for losers...yet he uses them every day. In reality, I agree with McCarthy wholeheartedly...I constantly see stats quoted as if they are predictive...especially in fantasy football. But McCarthy uses the statistical data to get a clearer picture of tendencies and understand where the focus needs to be, and that is valuable. So from time to time, I do "Circle the Stat" and pull out a stat or two that I think matter and talk about why it matters. Usually, I do it on the live show "Good PackerNation Morning" but I thought I would throw in…

R&R Packers vs Giants

Rants I know it was a win but there were some faults this game, starting with Aaron Rodgers. There is no way an MVP QB throws two INT's to a depleted secondary like the Giants have, he was also missing open receivers again and trying to force the ball into tight coverage, and looking for Nelson way to much. Jordy was targeted 13 times with only 4 receptions for 38 yards. Rodgers was 23-for-45 for 259 yards, two TDs and a passer rating of 65.0. which is far from being elite. James Starks in my opinion is useless. He can't…

R&R Packers vs Vikings

Rants I will get roasted for this but Rodgers stunk this game. He has regressed since the middle of last season and looks to still be declining. Most were saying it was the loss of Nelson last year but I wrote more than a few posts saying Rodgers has regressed as a QB and it has carried over into this season. He has no vision anymore. I saw at least 2 plays where he had Nelson wide open over the middle deep but he threw the ball into tight coverage either short or on the sideline. His lack of reading the…
