One Step Forward…Two Steps Back

So far this preseason is best characterized as a "one step forward, two steps back" affair. The first preseason game against the Patriots showed a Packers team that was very much as advertised. The offense was dominant (with perhaps still some red zone issues yet to be corrected) and the defense showed a lot of pressure with good coverage on the backside. Since then, we seem to have done a 180. With the Thursday game in sight and the "dress rehearsal" against the Eagles in the rear-view, it's time to take a look at the preseason so far. (more…)

R&R Packers/Eagles

Raves I know some fans are thinking what's to rave about but there were some good things that came out of this game, Hundley got off to a bad start but soon as he settled in he played pretty darn good for a rookie, 22 of 31 passes for 315 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and a 111.6 passer rating., most rookies get excited in their first NFL start but Brett looked calm and went through his progressions and if nothing was there then he left the pocket to use his legs. AM Quickslant: Time To Move On

With the Steelers game in the rear-view mirror and the Eagles Saturday game on the horizon, the Packers will quickly begin to find out what they have in their young wide receivers. The loss of Jordy Nelson also must be put behind them if they are going to maintain the goals set at the beginning of the year. Saturday will be a big day, one in which the ones will play their most football of the preseason but for the Packers it will also be a time to give opportunities to players filling in for the injured.  (more…)
