Ted Thompson has built a perennial contender and one-time (so far) champion by focusing on the draft, signing players who prove themselves, and once in awhile making a careful off-season acquisition. Most recently, Thompson acquired Julius Peppers after he had been released by the Bears because his contract got too bloated. Ted also brought in Charles Woodson and Ryan Pickett. So it is not fair to say that Ted Thompson does not sign free agents. But it is also true that Ted rarely if ever signs players during the free agent "frenzy". (more…)

2015 has officially kicked off

As of March 10th the 2015 football season officially kicked off. The media calls it the free agent frenzy and this year lived up to the name. I, for one, am glad that Ted Thompson only works on signing his own players and stays away from paying big money for other teams projects. Offense Cobb and Bulaga were the focus players and Thompson was able to work out deals with both to assure the offense will be intact for at least two more years (with the exception of Kuhn and I believe he comes back on a veteran friendly contract for at…

Free agency is just a few short hours away and the picture will quickly become clear as to where Ndomokong Suh will end up and whether Frank Gore will bail on a supposed deal with Philadelphia to go to the Colts. Sam Shields Out, Williams Questionable

Packernation has been waiting for word on Sam Shields and Tramon Williams after coach McCarthy has said that neither's injury was long term. But today, word came out that Sam Shields was out for Sunday's game against Carolina and Tramon Williams is questionable. This, along with the absence of Datone Jones for a second game, make the Lambeau Field contest against the Carolina Panthers the first with major questions at the start position this year.  (more…)

Tramon Williams Missed Tackle or…

During the Bengals first drive of the day on Sunday, Tramon Williams missed tackling Sanu on the sidelines and allowed him to race up the sidelines for 32 before M.D. Jennings pushed him out of bounds. While Tramon should have made that tackle, the replay tells a bit of a different story about the play. (more…)
