Raves
I know some fans are thinking what’s to rave about but there were some good things that came out of this game, Hundley got off to a bad start but soon as he settled in he played pretty darn good for a rookie, 22 of 31 passes for 315 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and a 111.6 passer rating., most rookies get excited in their first NFL start but Brett looked calm and went through his progressions and if nothing was there then he left the pocket to use his legs. Personally I think he has what it takes to be a starting QB in the league down the road if he can keep developing at this rate, not saying it will be for the Packers but he will be for some team!
Rajion Neal had a good game which might have put him out front for the third RB spot, rushing for 23 yards with 61 receiving and a TD.
Myles White caught nine passes for 89 yards, Jeff Janis three passes for 72 yards and one touchdown, Ty Montgomery two for 71 yards with a impressive catch in the slot and turning it into a big gain with his speed.
Rants
The defense looked like rookies, special teams is worse this year than last year if that’s even possible, injuries are coming in bunches and the season has not even started. Sorry if I sound disgusted but this game really has disgust written all over it, I know preseason is about evaluating each player but 25 points in the first quarter is embarrassing. I could understand it if it was the second and third stringers but they played all their starters on defense and still got whooped.
Granted the offense was without Rodgers (thank GOD) or else he could be on the injured list as well the way the O line played. Penalties were the Packers favorite thing to do this game! I can go on and on about my rants but I think ya’ all get the picture so I will let you vent in the comments section.
Thanks,
Jeff

It’s time for the annual questioning of Dom Capers. There is no way a #1 defense should be so unprepared to play the third preseason game against a playoff worthy opponent. The Packers will not be ready for week 1 against a running team of any team for that matter. With a depleted offense due to injury, the Packers could find themselves in a deep hole by week 3. It doesn’t help that TT can’t draft defensive players.
Normally I would agree with you and say that Capers’ defense was questionable, but I have to think (and keep telling myself) that the entire team was jostled from the Jory Nelson loss and very soon after the Cobb loss. Every 1st string player seemed to be playing at half speed. Missing tackles, letting big plays go. They looked like they were playing prevent defense. And by prevent I mean preventing injuries. I would say it was more on the player’s mental game than on Capers’ schemes.
There is always an excuse for Capers, isn’t there.
Defense again really? Embarrassing. We are suppose to be a Super Bowl contending team. Don’t think so at this rate. Hope we can get it together offense and defense. They work off each other. One can’t do it without the other. Come on Pack get it together
