Packers-Bears Rivalry Could Turn New Page in 2015

Packers Bears Rivalry 2015The Packers-Bears rivalry is the oldest in the NFL and one of the most grueling as well. Despite the Bears accomplishing much as an NFL franchise, the Packers have historically dominated them. Still, there has been one thorn in the side of the Packers. It’s the one solitary bit of ammunition the Bears have against the Packers.

But that could all change in 2015…

The Packers were the first of the two teams to organize and the first to enter the National Football League. They did so in 1919 and the Bears didn’t join until 1921 when they weren’t even the Bears, they were the Staleys (what in the world is a Staley?).

The Packers began winning world titles in 1929 and have won 13 of them, more than any other team in the NFL and more than the Bears’ nine championships.

Still, the Packers have been trailing the Bears in the win-loss column since 1931. And, Bears fans, because they have nothing else to point to, will wag their fingers at the overall rivalry record and flash a toothless grin at Packers fans.

Over the last several seasons though, the Packers have not only had the Bears’ number but have been slowly turning the tables on the rivalry record with the Bears. Entering the 2015 season the record stands at Green Bay 90 wins, da Bears 92 wins, and they, of course, play each other twice.

Almost makes me want to see the Bears make the playoffs so we can beat them a third time, leave them in our wake, and never look back.
