James Jones is going to have some work to do to prove he was worth the cost of Myles White’s job. I think he will do that and possibly more. When a receiver “loses a step” what does that mean? Often it means he is simply not as fast as he used to be. Well, the Packers have been proving for years that just being a speed burner is not enough. James Jones is a big, physical receiver and a veteran to boot. Additionally, he already has rapport with Aaron Rodgers.
Jones talked to the press yesterday and made mention of the fact that he has really not been gone long. Playing for the Packers for seven years means that coming back to Green Bay means coming back home. Here are some highlights from Jones’ time with the Packers. Check it out and if you like these highlights, give it a sub.
Jones will be back in number 89 and is one year removed from a career best catches, he has only been gone a year and if my guess is right, will factor heavily in the Packers red-zone offense which, I believe, will be improved this year because of his presence. The Packers have another Super Bowl champion returning to the fold, and here is hoping he can help this year’s team get back to another one.
