Aaron Rodgers DisappointedThe Packers lost a game which never should have been close, yet McCarthy still won’t do what needs to be done! He took a championship team from last season and changed everything about it in the coaching staff. Giving up play calling is a major issue which should be corrected, it’s past due for him to resume the duties to get the offense which is their bread and butter back on track, Clements needs to be put back in the booth.

Rodgers, for whatever reason, is not playing like we are use to he is missing throws to wide open receivers, McCarthy says he doesn’t correct his QB’s problems to the media but you could tell he is not happy with Aaron’s performance as well. Why they’re not benching James Jones and letting Abbrederis play just irks me, Abby was the only player making big plays and getting separation, Jones played well the first few games but since then he has been a non factor. Adams is dropping way too many passes so why not put Janis in? I am tired of hearing he isn’t ready, wake up McCarthy, it looks to me like Jones and Adams are the ones not ready, Something has to change and if you don’t do it soon this team will be watching from home in the postseason. Perillo was a pleasant surprise this game and he deserves more time on the field. Cobb is suppose to be the #1 now but he has been disappointing as well, I know Jordy was a big loss but he is not the reason these receivers are playing so bad. As for the run game we all saw that it’s not only Lacy who can’t run with this o line. James Starks was stopped by a very bad Lions defense as well – time for these guys to take a long look in the mirror and ask where their mojo went because they don’t resemble anything close to the line of last season!

Streaks? I am so tired of the media talking about streaks. They talked about Rodgers not throwing an interception and he did – then it was how long since they lost two in a row and they did. So this game all week it was about Detroit has not won in Lambeau in how many years and they did so lets talk about the last time they lost 4 in a row or 5,6,7 because if McCarthy don’t change things these streaks will all be broken! Bottom line the team is regressing each week instead of improving.

Maybe the outcome would have been different if the refs were calling the PI’s this game because I saw at least 6 which should have been called but they can’t rely on refs to either win or lose the game for them they must go out and execute.

The defense played very well this game other than a few plays they kept the game within reach so all the fire Capers fans can relax this week.

Special teams has been improved but this game they also took a few steps back, the kick off return coming out in the second half set the tone for the most part the rest of the game, and while I don’t want to put the blame on Crosby for the loss his FG attempt to win was just disgusting to say the least.

Well I for one am sick from this loss it has me doubting the future of this team on whether they’re capable of righting the ship so to speak. It all starts with McCarthy and rolls down hill and there is a lot to be fixed I just hope McCarthy swallows his pride and admits the changes he made were a mistake and corrects them before it’s to late. I have to be honest and say next week I have to pick the Viking to win especially the way they played against the 1-7 Lions. I hope I’m wrong and they can turn it around but either way I am and always will be a Packer fan I love this team but it’s very hard to feel good about what’s going on.

Sadly I think you nailed it. As a 50 year loyal Packer fan all I can say is we have been through this before. Let’s not let it get that bad again. Please no more Packers are Devine! That was worse than this!

Totally agree. I watched a few seconds of Roger’s news conf after the game. He was asked if the offense was in a “funk”. He strongly disagreed and said they ” they would look at the film and make fixes” (I paraphrase). What??? Didn’t they do that after Denver? Carolina? They were pushed around in those games. You’d think that the answer might be “yes, we have problems and yes, I am not playing well”. I admire Aaron enormously but this response was not enough.

The fist couple of games were great . 4th, 5th, and 6th showed we barely got by with a win. What happened to the Packers? Too much bragging and not enough results. We can do better and let’s take it seriously and change it up. What we are doing is NOT working. Let’s GO PACK GO!

Your article’s points are mostly true, BUT why all the run-on sentences and bad grammar?? Doesn’t anyone know how to compose a well-written article anymore?

GPN does not employ professional writers. They are fans with various grammatical skill levels who are doing this out of their passion for the team. I’m not saying that I like it, as I’d prefer all articles to be edited. I’m saying that expecting people to perfect their writing skills for a hobby is asking a bit much. 😉

What I don’t understand is Jake Ryan looked like the perfect match to Clay Matthews last week in Carolina, why isn’t he on the field more?

Rodgers is scared. You put it perfectly “He doesn’t trust the call or the receivers” and it shows right through everything. And the loss of the swagger and confidence is gone. It was like Tom Brady snuck into the Packers locker room and deflated ever ounce of confidence and passion this team had. There are other QBs that lose there star receivers and move on to have great seasons and even win Superbowls. I agree and dis agree with McCarthy taking the play calling back. He was great with it until he had a two score lead, and then McCarthy would go into this idle mode and not keep his foot on the gas. Who cares if you blow out another team. This is for the big bucks, nobody will care if you score 50 on another team.
All week it should be nothing but the OL coach with both feet up their asses, and McCarthy, Rodgers and ever receiver should be throwing 50 passes per day at each one. It’s time for Rodgers to buck up and start hitting his guys. If not throw Scott Tolzien in. If your going to lose, at least let a hungry kid get a shot..

What about the horrible play calling at the end of the first half that cost us three points to the Lions. With no timouts remaining, starting from about our 10 yard line with a little over a minute to go instead of letting the clock run out we go 3 and out and punted from our end zone that led to a field goal. Throwing 2 passes with on stopping the clock was unthinkable.

You hit the nail right on the head. Football is a team effort and all members of the team must excute in order to win. They have not been doing that, even in some of the games they won. If they do not get their heads on straight, they will continue to perform poorly.

I agree completely with your assessments, its like someone turned the light switch”off,” with the entire offense. If you listen to them talk afterwards, the media doesn’t want to make them mad by challenging them. Hold each other accountable, please!

Stop whining and complaining, you all are starting to sound like Bears fans. Have some faith. McCarthy will resume play calling, we’ll get healthy and The run game will resume in time for a stretch run. We still have the best fans and a great team. Show some patience and faith.

I think there is an underling problem with the team and they need to bring it out into the open. I think some one stepped on some one’s toes or something like that and it is hurting the entire team. Let’s fix the problem get over it and go back to winning gams.

I think you’re reading too much into the problems. Simply put; when Rodgers is playing well he hides many of our problems, and when he’s playing poorly he amplifies them. Our play calls are still approved by McCarthy, and our D is struggling because they’re on the field way too much.

in the last 20+ years green bay has had argueably the 2 best qb’s to ever throw footballs. We have a combined two superbowl victories. A huge waste of talent. It’s time to win now, Don’t waste Rodgers ability like Favres was. Green Bay has consistently fielded good teams but not great ones. Now is the time-

Wow! I hope that Jeff’s football analytical skills are better than his writing skills. Here is a suggestion, Jeff–read and edit what you wrote before you publish it.

What Jeff lacks in writing skills, he more than makes up for by providing polite and objective commentary about our team. Jeff is devoting his time and effort to give us articles without being paid. You, on the other hand, will not likely be asked to ever write for anyone because of your demeanor. Learn to make your points without insulting others.

And for the record, your sentence structure and grammar are no better. It should be: “Here is a suggestion: Jeff, read and edit what you’ve written before you publish it.”
