This year the Seahawks agreement with Texas A&M to use their “12th Man” expires. Currently the Seahawks are paying the university just $5,000 a year to use the logo, but nobody is sure what the price tag will be when (and if) the contract can be renewed.
This is a problem the Packers will never have to face (although some Georgia bulldogs fans might try to disagree.
Living down here in SEC country, we Packers fans frequently hear Georgia fans claiming that they were the first to come up with the football-shaped G logo. The fact of the matter is that Lombardi himself requested the football shaped G and even the University of Georgia admits that the university approached the Packers for permission to use the logo.
